F&F_Moll Anderson

F&F_Moll AndersonThe art of packing is a tricky one to master. We decided to ask author and lifestyle expert Moll Anderson exactly what she’s packing in her suitcase this season. As someone who is constantly on-the-go,  she knows exactly what to pack so she’ll look chic and stylish when she lands.

Happy 30th birthday, Moschino!

What looked like the party of the year (and for sure, the most fun fashion show) took place in Milan on Saturday. Moschino celebrated its 30th birthday with an all-bets-are-off retrospective collection that also looked forward. Pat Cleveland opened the show, and it ended with Gloria Gaynor singing “I Am What I Am.” That song sums up Moschino. The models came down the runway two by two, in yin and yang outfits (good girl/bad girl, white/black, long/short, etc.).

I am always asked “what is my favorite designer?,” and I always say “Moschino.” It is everything fashion should be: glamorous, chic, fun, witty, new, classic, sexy, innocent. It is everything and more. People forget the new ground that Franco Moschino forged. He saw the humor in the crazy fashion circus. He laughed, and you laughed with him.

He died of a heart attack in 1994, and his brilliant assistant Rossella Jardini has continued without missing a beat. It is truly the last “fun” house in fashion. And fashion sure needs some fun right now.

all about: hitting the spot

All About_leopard

All About_leopardWhen it comes to bold prints, there’s nothing quite as classic as leopard. Whether you’re just looking for a spotted accent á la this Lanvin belt or more of a head-to-toe look, this print is the cat’s meow for fall.

victoria-beckham-rtw-ss2014-details-38_125142657672With all of the focus on the clothing during Fashion Week, people often forget to notice the fabulous accessories that come down the runway, too. Not us. We could spot this Victoria Beckham duffle from a mile away. We love the simple shape (a VB signature), and the geometric panels just give it a little some extra. Spring can’t come soon enough.

F&F_Gray Malin

It was our great pleasure to host photographer (and former Dallasite!) Gray Malin at the store last week. We just can’t get enough of this talented artist’s work. From his Prada Marfa series to his aerial beach shots, it’s hard to pick a favorite. It’s a good thing we’ve got all of them in the store for your perusal. Today, Malin lets us in on what he’s coveting for the fall season.

Well, New York and London Fashion Weeks are over.

New York was “high highs and low lows”. And that can be said of skirt lengths. It was all about the leg, as far as I’m concerned. Mid-thigh or mid-calf. And everything else just seemed wrong. What did I love? Altuzarra, Victoria Beckham, and Narciso Rodriguez were the standouts. Narciso (pictured here) was my favorite. Drop dead sexy and just a gorgeous show. It seemed totally unforced because it was the “Narciso” he does best. He loves women.

On to Paris!

all about: neutrals

All About_Neutrals

All About_NeutralsWhile we love to embrace fall’s boldest and brightest colors, we also believe in the power of a neutral. There’s really nothing more classic than a camel coat or a tan leather handbag. This season, subtle shades have never looked stronger.

london_pinkStreet Style at London Fashion Week Spring 2014 for W Magazine, shot by Adam Katz Sinding

The skies may be gray, but London Fashion Week showgoers are brightening things up – with pink! We love seeing the rosy hue pop up in magazine’s street style shots. It looks like this color is exactly the right way to keep warm this season.
